Well - the plans are made - River cruise in Europe but couldn't go back without visiting Italy again!


So here is the plan:

• Land Rome - Tours, dolce vita

By Train

• Side trip to Pompeii

• Siena with a full day tour of Tuscany wine country + soak in the city

• To Como and then Fast Ferry to Bellagio

• Varenna to Tirano then the Bernina Express to Pontresina, Switzerland

• Sites in Zurich

By River Cruise

• Pick up in Zurick by Avalon Waterways and delivered to the Avalon Visionary docked in Basel (I think this will be about it's 5th sailing since being launched new in 2012)

• Crusing down the Rhine on the Romantic Rhine cruise - 7 stops in France, Germany and Holland

3 Days soaking up Amsterdam

Now you know the plan - I will strive to update this blog on a regular basis to let you know how the plan is gioing, using little text and photos.  (subject to embibing the wine of the area of course).
